What Is Affiliate Marketing and How Does It Work?
Affiliate marketing is a way to earn money online by promoting someone else’s products or services. Instead of creating your own products, you recommend tools, courses, or services that your audience is already searching for. When someone clicks your unique affiliate link and makes a purchase, you earn a commission.
To get a dedicated affiliate link, the blogger or content creator must first apply to an affiliate network or program.
It’s a win-win: businesses get new customers, you get paid for connecting people with solutions they need, and customers pay no more for that – on the contrary, they often get special discounts from valid affiliate promotions!
And contrary to what it may look like, affiliate blogging is a very beginner-friendly online business model, as it’s affordable to start, the required skills can be learned with online education (like my course! 😁), and you can realistically be earning a stable online income within 1-2 years of work, dedicating a few hours per week.
Types of Affiliate Marketing
Affiliate marketing isn’t just one-size-fits-all – there are different ways to approach it, depending on your niche and audience:
- Involved Affiliate Marketing
The strongest model: you promote products you’ve tested and genuinely believe in. Your recommendations carry weight because your audience trusts your experience.
- Unattached Affiliate Marketing
You don’t need an existing audience or platform. You promote links (often through ads), but you have little authority or trust built with buyers.
- Related Affiliate Marketing
You recommend products/services that are relevant to your niche, but not something you personally use. You have some audience connection, but not a full personal endorsement.
Who I am

Salut! I’m Andréane (and yes, if you haven’t checked my about page yet, I’m a lifelong metalhead 🤟🏻), and I created this 7-day course to guide aspiring affiliate bloggers like you toward real, sustainable success.
I’ve been blogging and working with affiliate marketing since 2016, back when I was still a full-time French-English translator (and hadn’t transitioned to full-time blogging yet).
Along the way, I made plenty of mistakes – and I also saw way too much shallow or bad-faith advice that keeps beginners stuck and frustrated (I can tell – I have first-hand experience, after all, it used to be me).
Here’s what I learned: succeeding as an affiliate blogger takes a lot more than just randomly posting half a dozen blog posts and joining the Amazon Affiliate Program. If you want to stand out among the competition and actually build income, you need:
- A strong foundation from the very start
- A smart, long-term strategy
- Consistent effort and content creation
- Actually knowing what you’re doing
That’s exactly what I’m here to help you build. Over the next 7 days, you’ll receive one email per day, each with a practical lesson + one clear action step. Together, we’ll break down affiliate blogging into manageable pieces – no overwhelm, just a step-by-step plan to set you up for your first (and many more) affiliate sales.
Stick with me, and by the end of this course, you’ll not only know what to do, but also why these strategies work – and you’ll feel confident about putting them into practice.
Sign up today – it’s free, beginner-friendly, and could be the first step toward the business you’ve been dreaming about!

Can you make $100 a day with affiliate marketing?
Absolutely. Once your blog starts getting consistent traffic and your posts are ranking on Google, earning $100 a day (or even more) becomes totally realistic. It takes time, but it’s possible with the strategy I explain in my course.
What is the 80/20 rule in affiliate marketing?
The 80/20 rule means that 80% of your results come from 20% of your efforts — usually your best-performing content or affiliate programs. Focus on what works and double down on those top opportunities.
What is an affiliate marketing blog?
